About Me

An experienced human resources professional, Dara Chenevert most recently served as interim chief business enterprise and safety officer with Hillsborough Area Regional Transit. Along with overseeing the hiring process and administering compensation and benefits in this capacity, she worked to uphold positive employee relations and to ensure employee programs met constantly evolving needs. Dara Chenevert also took an active role in risk management and employee safety, as well as any legal matters related to personnel.

Dara Chenevert accepted this position following service to Hillsborough Area Regional Transit as director of human resources and organizational development, in which capacity she oversaw the introduction of new self-insured benefits. She has also maintained responsibilities at the organization as senior manager of human resources and organizational development. As senior manager, she successfully redeveloped recruiting strategies and implemented new performance assessment metrics.

Ms. Chenevert initially joined Hillsborough Area Regional Transit as an employee and labor relations consultant, having previously directed the organizational support division in the human resources department of the Hillsborough County Government. Also a former member of the City of Detroit's Office of the Corporation Counsel, where she practiced labor, employment, and contract law for a total of six years, she holds a juris doctor from Howard University School of Law.
